About us:
BNH offers a variety of learning and social support programs and services to the diverse community of Brunswick and surrounding areas. Run by a team of volunteers, tutors, students, semi-to-permanent staff and more, our purpose is to sustain and enrich our community by offering opportunities to learn, create and interact. Learn more here.
About placements:
Placement students assist in any and all of the operations of the house, including:
- Assisting with programs like Chatty Cafe, Community Lunch, Community Support Hub, English classes or Gardening.
- Undertaking a project in an area of interest, helping us improve and develop our current and upcoming events and programs.
- Working front of house, helping to manage enquiries and enroll students in classes.
- Supporting the office team, gaining a deeper understanding of house operations and increasing your knowledge of the community sector.
About you:
We don’t have a formalised placement program, so we’re looking for people who are comfortable taking charge of their own learning and make their placement their own. We value those who are sociable, open, respectful, honest & understanding, especially given the diverse clientele at the house. You’ll thrive here if you’re adaptable, wear your heart on your sleeve, are keen to meet new people, and have a can-do attitude.
(please note, our remaining 2026 availability is limited)
