LIFE DRAWING MASTERCLASS

Capture the human form on paper with guidance from our experienced tutor and talented visual artist Michael O’Hanlon. Michael can cater this short course to both beginners and more experienced students, “what I enjoy most is equipping students with foundational drawing techniques to kickstart their life drawing skills”.

PAPER MACHE SCULPTURE COURSE

Dive into the world of paper mache and learn to model your own unique sculptures! With just some newspaper, glue, and water, you can bring your creative ideas to life. From abstract art to intricate animal replicas, by experimenting with different shapes, textures and finishes the possibilities are endless. Guided by talented visual artist and sculptor Lizette, participants will learn the entire sculpting process over the course of six weeks.

FASHION FOR BEGINNERS

Interested in exploring the creative world of fashion design and illustration? We are excited to introduce our new 6-week course, Fashion For Beginners. In this hands-on course you will develop a folio of colour schemes, fashion illustrations, and storyboards – plus design a fashion capsule containing 5-8 unique garments of your own creation.

DEVELOP THE ARTIST WITHIN

Foundation art skills and beyond.
Have you always wanted to be able to draw and paint well, but life just got in the way?
Do you want to learn and develop the techniques to draw and paint across all the art mediums, E.g. acrylic, watercolour, graphite and colour pencil, gouache and soft pastel.
This will be a skill based, ongoing course where you can practise your new art skills, meet people and have fun.

Cooking, Gardening & Job Skills

CREATIVE KITCHEN PROGRAM

LEARN TO COOK WITHOUT WASTE
A brilliant and fun cooking course to develop skills and confidence around the preparation of food. Over 10 weeks, participants will prepare, eat and gain an overview of different styles of cooking as well as how to cook with limited food waste (get the most out of your groceries). You’ll also learn how to cook for a large group during our monthly, community lunches. The objective of this course is to develop skills, social connection, and self-confidence to seek further study or work in hospitality

URBAN FOOD GARDENING

No matter the size of your urban growing space, learn to grow nutrient-dense food, using regenerative gardening practices.
Gain knowledge and learn hands-on skills to plan and maintain a biodiverse, productive garden
The course covers topics such as:
• Growing in pots, raised beds, wicking beds and no-dig gardens
• Site analysis and design considerations
• Regenerating soil health and fertility
• Seasonal planning and crop rotation
• Companion planting and beneficial insects
• Upcycle waste through composting and worm farms

Technology is everywhere in our lives these days. Get to know your Smartphone and Computer with this simple and easy class for beginners.
Topics will include
Using your own smart phone, sending sms, using computers, connecting and working safely over the internet, emails, social media, apps and software and staying safe online.
