FASHION UPCYCLING

Have any old clothes or thrift finds that could do with patching, tailoring, or embellishing before you get any more wear out of them? Come along to our upcoming Fashion Upcycling Workshop, where you’ll receive materials, sewing equipment and advice on how to repair and transform your garments. All participants can bring up to three garments for mending.

More Info

We will provide: All sewing equipment including sewing machines, threads, irons, scissors, pins, needles and some extra bits of fabric, braid, and buttons to get you started.
What you need to bring: Up to 3 garments for advice that you want to embellish or mend. Your own sewing machine if you prefer it to ours. Your own sewing tools if you have some and anything special that you want to add to your garment.
Skill level: This workshop is suitable for beginners and more experienced sewers who are looking for some more inspiration and advice. Hand sewing techniques will be shown but if you plan on using a machine, then basic sewing machine skills are helpful.
What to expect: The class will start with a demonstration of ideas and then a review of each person’s first garment that they want to transform. The technique and plan for each garment is quickly explained and then your teacher will give you detailed instructions one on one. How much you can complete in this workshop will depend on your existing skills and the complexity of your project(s).
