Creative

DEVELOP THE ARTIST WITHIN

This short course has been developed for those who are interested in visual arts but lack confidence in their drawing and painting skills. Over the span of four weeks you will learn foundational art skills and study ‘the elements of art’ such as line, shape, texture, colour, and tone. Our tutor Sue will walk you through these basic skills and work with you to develop your artist within. Come along for a fun, inclusive and creative learning experience.

INTRO TO SEWING

FASHION FOR BEGINNERS

Interested in exploring the creative world of fashion design and illustration? We are excited to introduce our new 8-week course, Fashion For Beginners. In this hands-on course you will develop a folio of colour schemes, fashion illustrations, and storyboards – plus design a fashion capsule containing 5-8 unique garments of your own creation.

LIFE DRAWING MASTERCLASS

Capture the human form on paper with guidance from our experienced tutor and talented visual artist Michael O’Hanlon. Cooking, Gardening & Job Skills

THE COOK PROGRAM

A brilliant and fun cooking course to develop skills and confidence around the preparation of food. Over 10 weeks, participants will prepare, eat and gain an overview of different styles and types of cooking. You’ll also learn how to cook for a large group during our monthly, community lunches. The objective of this course is to develop skills, social connection, and self-confidence to seek further study or work in hospitality.

URBAN FOOD GARDENING

No matter the size of your urban growing space, learn to grow nutrient-dense food, using regenerative gardening practices.
Gain knowledge and learn hands-on skills to plan and maintain a biodiverse, productive garden
The course covers topics such as:
• Growing in pots, raised beds, wicking beds and no-dig gardens
• Site analysis and design considerations
• Regenerating soil health and fertility
• Seasonal planning and crop rotation
• Companion planting and beneficial insects
• Upcycle waste through composting and worm farms

Join our Wellbeing Program for Seniors by Mosaik Experiences. Participants will be invited to explore various forms of arts, music, movements, and body language led by skilled artists representing diverse cultural backgrounds on a weekly basis. Run in collaboration with Brunswick Neighbourhood House and with the support of Merri-bek City Council, this program is set to provide a holistic approach to well-being for the senior community. This free program is designed for residents aged 60 years and older.
